In addition, the therapeutic effect of moist heat in the rectal and anal areas can cure the affected tissues and protect the healthier ones.
Various medications, ointments and counter creams are often prescribed by the doctors to patients of external hemorrhoids. Often these medications and creams contain components such as hazel, hydrocortisone among others. The above mentioned components often help in relieving the patients with the pain and discomfort associated with external hemorrhoids. But overusing the medications and counter creams can result in various side effects such as thinning of skin, rashes among others.
